What to Know
Easy to plan. Subtle in its reveal.
SKINVIVE® requires minimal downtime, but temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, firmness, or small bumps may occur at injection sites. These effects often improve within several days, although some may take up to two weeks to settle.
Before Treatment

✧ Medication Review | Tell your provider about aspirin, ibuprofen, anticoagulants, and supplements that may increase bruising or bleeding. Do not stop prescribed medication unless instructed by the clinician who prescribed it.
✧ Skin Check | Treatment should be postponed if there are active pimples, rashes, sores, cysts, hives, or infection in the treatment area.
✧ Health History | Tell your provider about allergies, previous reactions to hyaluronic acid injectables, immune-suppressing medications, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any history of unusual scarring or pigmentation changes.
✧ Other Procedures | Let your provider know if you are planning laser treatment, a chemical peel, dental work, or another procedure near the time of treatment.
After Treatment

✧ First 12 Hours | Avoid applying makeup over the treated area.
✧ First 24 Hours | Minimize strenuous exercise, extensive sun or heat exposure, and alcoholic beverages, as these may increase temporary redness, swelling, or itching.
✧ Treatment Area | Avoid unnecessary rubbing, pressure, or massage unless specifically instructed by your provider. A cold compress may be used as directed for temporary swelling.
✧ When to Contact Us | Contact your provider promptly for worsening or persistent redness, swelling, significant pain, or symptoms that appear weeks or months later. Seek immediate medical attention for vision changes, skin blanching, unusual pain, or signs of a stroke.
Timing Your Treatment

SKINVIVE by JUVÉDERM® requires relatively little downtime, but it should still be planned ahead of important events.
Allow time for temporary redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, or injection-site bumps to settle before weddings, photographs, travel, or other occasions. Some reactions resolve within several days, while others may take up to two weeks.
A touch-up may be considered approximately one month after the initial treatment if additional refinement is needed.
