What Does Botox Actually Do?

INJECTABLES
Botox works by temporarily reducing activity in selected muscles. In aesthetic treatment, that can soften expression lines while still allowing the face to look familiar and expressive when dosing is conservative.
It works best on movement-related lines
Forehead lines, frown lines and crow's-feet are common examples of dynamic lines created by repeated muscle movement. Botox can reduce the strength of that folding.
Results develop gradually
The effect usually begins over several days and is easier to judge after about two weeks. Results commonly last several months, although duration varies by treatment area, muscle strength and individual response.
Botox is not filler
Botox does not replace volume or change bone structure. If the concern is a hollow, weak chin, cheek support or lip shape, filler or another treatment may be more appropriate.
Natural treatment preserves expression
At MajorGlow, the goal is not to freeze every muscle. We treat the movement that bothers you, preserve useful expression and adjust future treatment based on how your face responds.
How long the effect lasts
Botox commonly lasts about three to four months, although individual response varies. Muscle strength, treatment area, dose and metabolism can all affect how quickly movement returns.
When to come back
Maintenance does not have to follow an exact calendar. Some patients return when movement becomes noticeable again, while others prefer longer intervals. We adjust timing based on how your face responds and how much movement you want to keep.
How to evaluate the result
A good Botox result should soften the movement that bothered you without making the face feel unfamiliar. We assess both line improvement and expression, then use that information to refine future dose and placement.
