AESTHETIC EDUCATION

Aesthetic maintenance is often presented as a calendar of fixed appointments, but biology does not work that neatly. Different treatments wear off, remodel or accumulate results on different timelines. A useful maintenance plan responds to what is actually changing rather than repeating procedures just because a date arrived.

Some treatments fade; others remodel

Neuromodulators gradually wear off as muscle activity returns. Hyaluronic acid fillers change over a longer and less predictable period. Microneedling, RF treatments and lasers can create remodeling that develops over weeks or months. Those differences make one universal maintenance schedule unrealistic.

A treatment series is different from maintenance

An initial series may be used to build a result for concerns such as hair reduction, acne scarring or collagen remodeling. Maintenance begins after that initial phase and should be based on what returns, not automatically on the same frequency as the original series.

Three months is not a rule for everything

Some treatments may reasonably be reassessed around a few months, while others may not need attention for much longer. Repeating every service quarterly can create unnecessary appointments, expense and cumulative treatment.

Six to twelve months can be a useful review window

For many patients, a broader review once or twice a year is a practical way to reassess priorities. Skin, facial structure, weight, lifestyle and budget can change, so the plan that made sense last year may not be the plan you want next year.

Maintenance should follow the return of the concern

A good cue for retreatment is the meaningful return of the problem you wanted to improve. If the result still looks good, there may be no reason to treat simply because the calendar says it is time.

Budget is part of maintenance planning

Long-term satisfaction is easier when the expected cadence fits your finances. A treatment that requires more frequent maintenance than you want may not be the best fit even if you like the initial result.

The best schedule is sustainable

Maintenance should support your goals without turning aesthetic care into an obligation. MajorGlow favors periodic reassessment and treatment when there is a reason rather than building a calendar filled with automatic procedures.
